letter to a my daughter who is in 3rd-year engineering and searching for internships

First, take a moment to reflect — do you believe in God? If you do, then trust that He has a plan for you. Leave your worries in His hands, but at the same time, carry out your responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.

Right now, you’re in a phase where you have the gift of free time — and you’ve earned every bit of it. Don’t feel guilty for enjoying a well-deserved break.

But keep in mind: once you enter the corporate world, your freedom will naturally become limited. You’ll be working under someone else’s direction, and even a short break of more than 10 days may require a proper explanation. Every career gap will be scrutinized.

I’m not discouraging you from starting a job — not at all. All I ask is this: don’t rush into something out of pressure or fear of missing out. At this point in your life, whether you take up a job or not, no one is going to question you. Even after graduation, there’s typically a grace period of a few months where expectations are low. Use this time wisely and intentionally. This is the perfect time to grow and learn — you might not get this kind of freedom and opportunity again. With love and blessings,
Your proud father,
B. Raghu
